Bespoke Tailoring in London Today
London has more bespoke tailoring than anywhere else in the country, from the historic houses of Savile Row to independent cutters across the city. What most Londoners lack is time. Travelling into Mayfair for a consultation and then two or three fittings can mean losing several half days from a busy diary.
A visiting tailor removes that problem. Richard Neasham brings cloth from Holland and Sherry, Scabal and Dugdale Brothers to your office or home, takes your measurements there, and returns for each fitting at a time that works for you. The pattern is cut for you alone, and you deal with the same tailor from the first conversation to the finished garment. You can read more about how a private fitting works.
Appointments are available across Central, North, East, West and South London, and throughout the Home Counties. Most suits take ten to twelve weeks from the first appointment to delivery, so it is worth planning ahead of a wedding, a new role or a busy season.
London Tailoring FAQs
Do you have a tailoring shop in London?
We do not operate a walk-in shop. Fittings take place at your home, office or club anywhere in London, and our London showroom is available by appointment.
Which parts of London do you cover?
All of London. We have dedicated pages for Central, North, East, West and South London, and we visit the Central London neighbourhoods of Mayfair, St James’s, Belgravia, Knightsbridge and the City most often.
Can you fit me at my office?
Yes. Many London clients are fitted at their office, which keeps each appointment short and easy to fit into a working day.
How long does a bespoke suit take?
Most suits take ten to twelve weeks from the first appointment to delivery. Eight weeks is the realistic minimum, and for a wedding we recommend allowing at least twelve weeks.
How many fittings will I need?
Most commissions involve two to three appointments, spaced several weeks apart, including the first consultation and measuring.
