A wedding day moves quickly. The morning, the ceremony, the photographs, the reception — hours that have been months in the making, compressed into a single day that passes faster than any other. What a man wears through all of it needs to be settled before it begins. Not something to think about. Not something to adjust. Simply there, doing its job, so everything else can be.
For Matthew Williams, that certainty came from RN Tailoring.
An Amazing Day
Matthew’s account of his wedding day is uncomplicated in the best way.
“An amazing day, and I got lots of compliments on my suit.”
That combination — the day itself, and the suit holding its own within it — is exactly what a groom’s commission is supposed to deliver. The suit doesn’t overwhelm the occasion. It serves it. And when it’s right, people notice.
The Fit That Gives You Confidence
There’s a particular quality to wearing something that was built for your body. It settles differently. It moves with you rather than requiring you to manage it. Matthew felt it immediately.
“The fit was perfect and I felt very confident on my wedding day.”
Confidence on a wedding day is not a small thing. It’s the difference between being present in the moment and being distracted by it — conscious of how you look, how you’re standing, whether the jacket is sitting correctly. A suit that fits properly removes all of that. What remains is the day.
A Suit That Earns Its Place in the Wardrobe
Not every wedding suit survives the occasion it was made for. Matthew’s has.
“I do continue to wear the trousers for work, which is a nice reminder of the day.”
It’s a quietly significant detail. The suit was good enough, and specific enough to him, that parts of it have worked their way into his regular life — not as a keepsake, but as a garment he actually reaches for. A well-made trouser in a cloth chosen carefully doesn’t stop being useful just because the ceremony is over.
Knowledge and Variety
Matthew is clear about what made the process stand out.
“Rich’s knowledge and the variety of samples that were available made it a very enjoyable experience.”
There’s a kind of tailoring consultation that feels transactional — you arrive, measurements are taken, you choose from a limited range, you leave. And then there’s the kind Matthew describes: one where the breadth of options available, and the expertise guiding you through them, turns the process into something genuinely enjoyable. Something you leave having learned something about what you want, and why.
No Rush, No Pressure
What Matthew returns to most is the atmosphere of the appointments themselves.
“Rich was very relaxed from the initial phone call and through the appointments. Nothing about the process felt rushed or pressured.”
That ease is deliberate. A decision made under pressure — fabric, style, fit — is rarely the right one. The space to think, to revisit, to try the first version and then refine it, is what produces a result that feels genuinely considered.
“Rich provided knowledge and experience that allowed me to make the best informed decisions based on what I liked and the look I was going for. It was great to have multiple meetings where we went through ideas and samples, then trying on the first version before going back for the finished suit.”
That process — ideas, then samples, then a first version, then the finished garment — is bespoke as it should be. Each stage building on the last. Nothing assumed. Nothing skipped.
The Detail Sewn Into the Suit
Asked about a particular moment he especially appreciated, Matthew points to something that arrived not as an add-on but as a considered suggestion.
“The idea to include our wedding date under the collar, and mine and my wife’s initials embroidered on the inside of the jacket.”
A date. Two sets of initials. Neither visible from the outside, neither serving any practical function — and both completely irreplaceable. That kind of detail is the signature of a tailor who understands that a wedding suit is not just a garment. It’s a record of a day.
